Grooming & Exploitation

Four real-world scenarios…
A 15 year old student targeted by an older student involved in a local drug gang is drawn into selling drugs.
A 12 year old student is groomed by an adult posing as a teenager on social media and plans to meet them.
A 16 year old girl becomes the victim of exploitation by sharing personal information on Snapchat.
A 14 year old boy is pressured into sharing inappropriate videos by an anonymous user on the Monkey app.

Securus action & outcome

In each of these safeguarding scenarios, children found themselves the victim of grooming or exploitation. The incidents, which could otherwise have gone unnoticed, were captured by the Securus monitoring system which is specifically designed to monitor and safeguard against such threats – resulting in all four cases being reviewed immediately by the DSL’s, preventing further harm.

Securus offers full support & training to schools who prefer to manage and review captures themselves. Alternatively, our Full Monitoring Service (FMS) team can do this on behalf of schools, saving valuable time & resources.
